IBM Think 2026 has officially opened in Boston – and Day 0 belongs entirely to the ecosystem.

Today, May 4, IBM Partner Plus Day launches the four-day conference before the doors open to the general audience. It’s an invite-only session for IBM Business Partners – integrators, ISVs, and regional specialists – and the message is clear from the start: the shift to agentic AI is no longer a roadmap item. It’s happening now, and partners are first in line.

For enterprise leaders watching the IBM space – especially those managing complex data environments, integrations, or legacy BI infrastructure – what gets announced and framed today will shape IBM’s go-to-market direction for the rest of the year.

What Partner Plus Day Actually Is

Partner Plus Day isn’t a warm-up act. It’s a closed-door strategy session where IBM lays out its ecosystem roadmap, partner incentives, and co-innovation priorities for the year ahead.

The focus is squarely on capturing real enterprise demand – not experimenting with AI pilots, but moving clients from proof-of-concept to production-scale impact. Partners are being equipped with the tools, GTM plays, and solution frameworks to do exactly that across IBM’s core areas: watsonx, hybrid cloud, data, and automation.

For IBM, the ecosystem isn’t a support channel. It’s the primary delivery vehicle for agentic AI at enterprise scale.

The Keynote: “The Power of the Ecosystem”

At 10:30 AM ET, IBM Chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna takes the stage alongside senior IBM leader Kareem Yusuf, PhD for the Partner Plus Day keynote – streamed live for the broader partner community.

The theme: “The power of the ecosystem: turning AI potential into enterprise-grade client impact.”

That framing matters. IBM isn’t talking about AI as a feature. It’s positioning agentic AI as the new operating model for large organizations – one that only works when partners, clients, and IBM build it together.

Afternoon Sessions, Forum – and the Opening Reception

After lunch, the afternoon (1:30-5:00 PM) shifts into partner-focused breakouts, briefings, and Forum activities – deeper dives on programs, region-specific plays, and solution areas. It’s where the strategy from the keynote gets translated into practical next steps.

At 5:00 PM, the first major networking moment of Think 2026 opens on the show floor. Partners connect with IBM teams, sponsors, and each other ahead of three more days of agentic AI announcements, client case studies, and ecosystem sessions.

Partner Plus Day sets the tone. The rest of the week – May 5 through 7 – will be the proof.

At Multishoring, we work with enterprise clients every day on the exact problems IBM’s ecosystem is mobilizing to solve – fragmented data, broken integrations, and reporting that nobody fully trusts. What gets shaped this week in Boston will matter to the organizations we work with. We’ll be watching closely.
